See I told you…

A while back I blogged about how ridiculous it was when people were throwing out phrases like “Facebook is the future.”
The register reported yesterday that folks are just getting tired of all this Eddie sent you a “virtual hamburger” shite.

Agreed 1000%! The only thing I’m sicker of than lame Facebook apps is the “Shiny-Table Reflected Everything” look that has plagued teh Web Two Point Oh. It has now bled over to TV, print… it’s friggin’ everywhere.
(Ok, I did that look to death myself early on, but ugh… enough already. Make it go away.)

Couldn’t agree more. Social networks are for entertainment purposes only (except maybe LinkedIn which is really a Business Network and those are actually valuable). And like any other form of entertainment, people get bored after a while, and move on to something new. While entertainment itself is sustaining (Print, TV, and radio have been around forever!), specific entertainment delivery vehicles are not (TV shows, nightclubs, blogs about seal clubbing, bands, etc.). To top it ff, it appears as if Facebook is losing money (http://kara.allthingsd.com/20080131/chatty-zuckerberg-tells-all-about-facebook-finances/)
